Terms & privacy
Guildfire is a small, invite-only community for people making games, run by Sivants LLC (“we”). This page is the agreement between you and us, written to be read. By creating an account you agree to it.
Who can join
You need an invitation, and you must be at least 18. One account per person, run by you. Accounts operated by bots, scripts or other people on your behalf aren't allowed.
Community rules
Everyone agrees to these when they join:
- Take part yourself. No bots, automated replies or accounts run for you. Using AI tools to make your game is fine; using them to post here for you isn't.
- Critique the work, not the person. Answer the question the maker asked. Be candid without roasting.
- Help before you publish. Your game goes into the directory after you've replied to three other makers' work.
- Report, don't pile on. If something's wrong, report it. Moderators review every report privately.
Also not allowed: harassment or threats, spam or repeated advertising, scams, malware or deceptive downloads, impersonation, sharing someone else's work as your own, posting other people's private information, and anything illegal. Games with mature themes are welcome to be discussed; sexually explicit images and graphic real-world violence are not allowed in anything you post here.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post: game pages, images, posts, replies and playtest answers. You give us permission to store it and show it to other members inside Guildfire, which is all we use it for. That permission ends when you or a moderator delete it, apart from copies in short-lived backups.
Only post work you have the right to share, and label concept art versus real gameplay honestly. If you share someone else's link, attribute it rather than copying it in.
Builds, downloads & outside links
Guildfire doesn't host, run or check game builds. Playtest builds, downloads and links lead to sites run by the maker or others. We can't promise they're safe or that they work. Download only from makers you trust, scan files before running them, and install at your own risk. If a download looks malicious, report it and we'll take it down.
Members' posts from X or LinkedIn only load from those sites when you choose to show them (or turn on “always show” in your browser); then those sites can see that you viewed them. Sharing or opening a post here never likes, reposts or posts anything on your behalf.
Working together
Guildfire helps people find each other. It isn't a party to any collaboration, job or deal that comes out of it. We don't verify anyone's identity, skills or payment, hold money, or settle disputes. Agree terms in writing with the people you work with. A revenue share is not a guaranteed payment, so say so plainly when you discuss it.
Moderation
Moderators can hide content, warn members, pause someone's ability to publish, suspend accounts and, in serious cases, delete them. Every moderation action is recorded with who took it. If you think a decision was wrong, use Report a bug → Feedback and ask for a review.
Privacy
What we keep: your login email and a scrambled form of your password; your profile (name, photo, crafts, skills, availability and the contact method you choose to show); what you post; who you've blocked; your notifications; and reports and site feedback you send. If you choose to attach page and browser details to a bug report, we keep exactly what you were shown before sending.
Who sees what: everything you post is visible to signed-in members only, not the public web. Your login email is never shown to members. Moderators can see reports, invite requests and site feedback. Your contact details appear only if you add them in Settings.
How long we keep it: page and browser details and screenshots attached to a bug report are deleted after 30 days. Bug reports and feedback marked resolved are deleted after 180 days, reports about posts, games or members 180 days after a moderator handles them, and the server error log 30 days after the last time an error happened. Expired sign-in sessions and old password-reset links are cleared automatically too.
Email: we send invites, a link to confirm your address, password resets and, only if you turn them on, copies of replies and report updates. No newsletters or marketing.
No ads, no selling data, no tracking. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and we never sell or rent your information. We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in.
Videos: Guildfire doesn't host video. A game's trailer plays from YouTube or Vimeo, and only loads when you press play. Those sites can see that you watched it. Until then, nothing is requested from them.
Services we use to run the site: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database, in the United States), and Resend (sending email). They handle data only to provide those services. Backups are kept for 7 days.
Leaving
You can leave at any time from Settings → Leave Guildfire. Deleting your account removes your profile and everything you posted, including images, and it can't be undone. Copies in backups disappear within 7 days. You can also edit or delete any single post or reply you wrote.
The legal part
Guildfire is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Sivants LLC isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, for anything members post or do, for builds or links you choose to open, or for deals between members. Membership is free; we may change or close the service, and we may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we'll tell members inside Guildfire before it takes effect.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, and any dispute about them will be handled in Florida.
Questions about these terms or your data: use Report a bug → Feedback when signed in, or ask the person who invited you. Back to the welcome page.
